In the last few days, you may have noticed something new inside Meta’s apps, including Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp: an artificially intelligent chatbot. This is Meta’s response to OpenAI’s ChatGPT, the chatbot that upended the tech industry in 2022, and similar bots including Google’s Gemini and Microsoft’s Bing AI. The Meta bot’s image generator also competes with A.I. Unlike other chatbots and image generators, Meta’s A.I. assistant is a free tool baked into apps that billions of people use every day, making it the most aggressive push yet from a big tech company to bring this flavor of artificial intelligence — known as generative A.I.

IBM aims to be "client zero" of the AI products it sells to clients, marketing chief Jonathan Adashek said. He said AI has augmented the work IBM staffers do and even made its ads more effective. In April 2020, our CEO Arvind Krishna said IBM is going to be the leading hybrid cloud and AI company. That means acquisitions, that means divestitures, that means prioritizing some areas of work over others. The big storyRetirement crisisart-4-art/Getty Images; Adobe Firefly; Jenny Chang-Rodriguez/BIWhat was once a natural part of the American dream — retirement — is now a luxury many workers can't afford. All of that combines to form a growing, and increasingly bleak, American retirement crisis. Plus, some who do leave work early end up regretting it . Adobe shares fell 13% on Friday morning after the company reported first-quarter results that beat estimates but delivered a light quarterly revenue forecast. Barclays dropped its price target for shares of Adobe to $630 from $700 while maintaining an overweight rating for the stock. CNBC's Investing in Space newsletter offers a view into the business of space exploration and privatization, delivered straight to your inbox. We're six years on from NASA declaring it would look to American companies to deliver cargo and research to the moon. As much as CLPS companies are bidding against each other for contracts, it's another example of what I've called space industry coopetition — simultaneous cooperation and competition. Already, Astrobotic represents that dynamic, holding a briefing with other CLPS companies to share the learnings from the company's first effort. But how many CLPS mission failures will NASA tolerate?

Rising rates and the possibility of a recession on the horizon have created a "mixed picture" for equity markets, according to one strategist — but several companies can look forward to markedly stronger earnings growth in the next year. "But, if you're looking for significant earnings expansion, I suspect, at a market level, that's probably less likely. The earnings growth rate for the S & P 500 was 3.7% year-on-year – the first quarter with year-on-year growth since the third quarter of 2022, the data showed. REUTERS/Mark Makela Acquire Licensing RightsNov 3 (Reuters) - Church & Dwight (CHD.N) lifted its annual net sales forecast for a third time this year on Friday, boosted by high prices as well as strong demand for its household and personal care products. Consumer goods companies have been bumping up product prices to offset spiraling raw material and labor costs as well as the impact of a stronger dollar, although investors have raised concerns that higher prices might dent demand. Last week, toothpaste maker Colgate-Palmolive (CL.N) raised its annual sales and profit forecasts again, while Kleenex tissue maker Kimberly-Clark (KMB.N) has also hiked its full-year profit expectations for a third time. "We are maintaining our full-year EPS outlook, with higher revenue and gross profits being offset by higher marketing and selling, general, and administrative (SG&A) dollars," CEO Matthew Farrell said in a statement. For the reported quarter, Church & Dwight's marketing expenses rose by 19%, with the company projecting a "significant increase" in marketing spending in the current-quarter amid strong momentum.

But the company has started assessing dealers in key European markets, two of the sources said, after the company's president last month said sales in Europe were not meeting expectations. One person said Nio had found that Europe had its "peculiarities", without elaborating, and that the company was planning to expand into more European countries. Its Firefly project, however, is evaluating its channel model for Europe, including direct sales, agency or dealers. Nio, which ranks ninth by sales volume among manufacturers of electric and hybrid cars in China, does not break down its sales in Europe.
